NAMO MERI AND SHRI VINOBA BHAVE CIVIL HOSPITAL(VBCH)
Amidst such a terrain is situated the district hospital NAMO Medical Education and Research Institute & Shri Vinoba Bhave Civil Hospital (now teaching hospital). This hospital, earlier known as Cottage Hospital, was a 60 bedded hospital with bare minimum facilities. The hospital was later expanded to 316 beds which slowly started catering the needs of entire population of the UT and the adjoining villages of Gujarat and Maharashtra states as well. With all the efforts, the hospital was developed into a state of art super speciality hospital & is now a 650 beds hospital, which provides all the general services, broad specialty as well as super specialty services and services under Accident Prevention cum Trauma Unit, Intensive Care Units (Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal) and others.
NAMOMERI & Shri Vinoba Bhave Civil Hospital (VBCH), Silvassa is the only teaching hospital in the U.T of DNH & DD, catering to entire population of Dadra & Nagar Haveli & Daman & Diu and adjoining areas of Gujarat and Maharashtra for its curative, preventive and rehabilitation needs. On an average the hospital caters to 12 lakh OPD annually and 46,000 Indoor admissions which is on a growing trend. In another 10 years time period annually 18-19 lakh patients are expected in the hospital.
Currently the department is having the following services and allied services: All Clinical & Para-Clinical Departments, Specialty Services, Accident Prevention Cum Trauma Unit, Operation Theatre, Intensive Care Units, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit etc. Various Speciality and Super speciality Services are as under :-
